Natural birth story
Well my Dec 26th baby became a New Year’s Day baby
Went on dec 31 my midwife checked me I was at 3cm so she tried to do a membrane sweep she said but didn’t feel like she it good enough. Went home and felt just tired from being over due. Took a nap with my daughter then woke up around 7pm with no signs at all. Stayed up with my husband to watch the ball drop and we went to bed to lay down around 12:30. I felt some contractions but didn’t think they was going to last long until the third one hit me and put tears in my eyes. Got up walked around to help ease the pain it helped so much then by 2am I said we should go to the hospital. Got there at 2:30 checked in and was at a 4.8 so they let me go back to the natural birthing room. Got back there and walked around for what seemed forever and bounced on the ball (omg that thing is amazing). I got checked around 5:30-5:45 and was at a 5.8. So I kept bouncing on the ball it truly is the best.
The nurse would come every 30min to check the baby’s heart beat so at 7 I asked when they would check me again and she told me the doctor would be in around 8 since it was shift change. He came in around 8:30-8:45 and I asked him if he would check me but he said they just did so to give it time. As he was leaving the nurse came in and listened to the heartbeat and then asked if I was having a contraction and wanted to feel my stomach I told her yeah but it’s all back labor so she suggested 3 different positions to help get the baby to transition it head the other way. I choose the peanut ball. She helped me lay down and get situated and as soon as she left out my water broke just a little gush with some strong contractions then another gush and strong contractions. So I paged first her to see if I could get in the jacuzzi or shower to help with my pain. She went to fill it up then came to check me and said well it’s time to call the doctors your at 9.5
I pushed for about 20min felt the ring of fire about4x’s screamed (just pull her out) (I cant do it) a few times then she was out and healthy.
She’s 8.1 lbs
I had second degree tearing and a perineal tearing also it was so worth it. But next time give me that epidural please!!!! Lol
