Burping issues, anyone else?

Anyone else struggle to burp their baby? My son is 4 weeks old and burping takes literally an hour. If he doesn’t burp he spits up a lot. If he does burp he still spits up but not as much. I’m exhausted from the burping, it’s making the late night feeds so much harder.

My son is so hard to burp. I finally figured out that sitting him on my lap, facing me with him leaning forward slightly, I pat him on his back on his left side (so with my right hand) ever so lightly and pretty slow and he will burp! Nothing else worked.

I was told if they don’t burp after a few minutes to to give it a break and try again if they seem uncomfortable. And I have to sit my son up for 20 minutes after he eats before laying him down or he throws up all or most of what he ate. Doctor is saying acid reflux that we can’t start meds for until next week when he is a month old and he had to get an ultrasound to check his pyloric sphincter today.

When my daughter was around that age I found a good hard rub on her back helped out a lot with getting her to burp (along with patting). And if she did a good sized burp and I continued to try and see if she had anymore she would spit up alot.
