cabinet help! diy

I just bought my first home the very end of March 2019. I was pregnant with my 5th baby, due very beginning of April. it was "move in ready" but come this Spring I want to take on some remodel projects. 1 being the kitchen. Our current cabinets are wood, black appliances, grayish tiling (which I like for now, won't redo those for a few more years), oh & no backsplash which I also want to add. I was wondering your opinions on what color to paint the cabinets, what color backsplash, counter tops& any other input.
