Ugh I’m so fed up!

My son is 8 years old and when it comes to electronics he’s a totally different kid, he gets super grumpy and emotional and it drives me insane. So we’ve limited his electronic time to weekends only. He gets so excited for the weekend to play Minecraft and what not but my husband is so strict and sometime so unreasonable with rules. He will just randomly decide he doesn’t want to give my son the tablet on the weekend for no reason at all and then I have to listen to my kid cry and pout and stomp around the house. He told my son that he can have the tablet today if he cleaned his room so my son worked for a few hours and got his room clean then my husband goes “actually you don’t need it today” like wtf? I understand not giving to him if he does something wrong but he didn’t do anything wrong. I’m so annoyed. Am I over reacting? I am the nice and easygoing parent but I feel like my husband powertrips a little too much. And to top it off he stares at his phone all day. So totally not setting a good example
