Have any of you pulled your nipple out?

Of babies mouth? I feel guilty because I have a few times :( but only because he'd have been feeding for 30+ minutes and I get so much pain! I can't take it anymore. But he definitely has a grip so I feel like I am being so selfish.

Try not to feel guilty...I've learned breastfeeding is like a dance and both you and baby learn how to do it together. It's possible the latch isn't correct if it's hurting that badly. Can you see a lactation consultant for help? My daughter had a shallow latch until I discovered she had lip and tongue tie. We got both fixed and then she latched so much better. However, lately she's gone back to a shallow latch that hurts. I take her off and say "no no, open bigger," and then I show her. I adjust her as many times as it takes to be comfortable. Just try to teach her, babies are very smart!

Answer

I did a few times when my babe was a newborn cause her latch wasn't good and it was excruciating. Just needed the time to recoup. I look back now and feel guilty, like I should have handled it better.
