Would it be wrong of me to run away with baby?

This is the third time my sons father has attacked me & the second time the police haven’t done ANYTHING besides give him a warning. How many times do I have to get my ass beat before he goes to jail like wtf?!?! Also I don’t qualify for a restraining order against him so I feel like this is my only option. He said he would kill me & I believe him.

Honestly, if you run, he could report you that you kidnapped the baby. If he is on the baby's birth cert then he has equal rights to see baby etc so you could get yourself in trouble. Try and see if there is any women aids near you that could help you. The only way to get it done unfortunately is through the police route in a way, gather all the evidence you can if possible just in case. There is a lot of help centres etc just Google ones near you

You need to get away from him but you also can’t “kidnap” your child without there being legal recourse.  Get somewhere he can’t find you and immediately file for sole custody and placement.  Make sure to get the police reports because even if they didn’t file charges, it’s proof.

Why do you not qualify for a restraining order? You should. I went through the same with my ex and was given a restraining order for three years as well as full custody. Legally you can not run away with your child without telling him where she will be as he can charge you with kidnapping. Find a safe place to go, let him know, but also dont let yourself be alone around him. Go to court and file a restraining order. Get a lawyer if you need to and pursue action right away. In some cases the restraining order can also protect your child from him. If not then you need to go to family court separately to pursue custody

You need to make some serious decisions. You posted earlier today about how your baby was with the dad because you had bouts of resentment toward your baby and feelings like you're going to hurt your baby.  You need to get serious help and you need it ASAP. Normally I wouldn't have such a lecture-type tone, but this is even more than postpartum depression.  GO GET GET HELP IMMEDIATELY.  Your child deserves none of this💔

You can’t legally without getting in trouble. He would come after you. I suggest you speak to a lawyer about your options. Take him to court

So you've stayed in the relationship and subjected yourself to physical abuse on several occasions. I normally wouldn't say this... Because I do understand the cycle of abuse. All too well. BUT you just made a poll on an app asking if you should run away. This tells me that clearly you have had or will have an opportunity to get away then. So then do it.
It's also not the police's fault that you decided to stay in an abusive relationship. Your sorry doesn't add up on this app and I'm doubtful it was making any sense to the police either. I do agree they're not doing their job, because they're failing to look out for your child. You need help. So do yourself and your baby a favor and LEAVE and get yourself help. There are domestic abuse shelters, hotlines, social services agencies, friends, family, etc. that provide assistance to victims but blaming everyone else and expecting them to fix your problems is not going to solve anything.
And no you can't runaway with your baby, the child's father had paternal rights and could sue.

Try getting in touch with a DA.  They’ll slap a protective order or even a restraining order on him VERY quick!

You can call CPS on him too. That’s considered endangerment of your child. And legally your child will be only placed with you and the guy has to go.
