Postpartum bleeding

So I had my baby 6 weeks ago and I bled for about 3 weeks. Last couple of days, however, I’ve noticed my discharge went from white to brown, like old blood. It hasn’t gotten heavier. Is this the start of my first period, or just leftover blood?
