What are some good first messages to send on dating apps?

When someone likes me, I view their profile and sometimes I'm curious about what they liked in my profile because it's different from what they're looking for. So is it ok to open with, "what made you like my profile" or something like that?
Or is it better to start with a compliment? Or just wait for them to message me first because they liked me? I'm lost lol. Please help.

I usually wait for them to message me first.  If they pay attention to their notifications,  and if they have viewed me,  then they they get notified that I viewed them,  it often gives a signal to them I am interested.  That has worked most times. Also to get the point across to them of necessary,  go and view their profile everyday.  Maybe 5 times have I initiated a message.  On a normal day I get between 5-20 messages,  all from different guys.  Of course only a few would be ones im having an ongoing conversation with. Hope this helps.  This is from my experience.
