How long do you nurse for?

So baby girl is 6 weeks and only nurses 7-12 minutes per session recently before she turns away from the breast and doesnt want to relatch. I keep trying to get her to relatch and even when I do it doesnt last long before she gets angry and pushes away and cries. I know she is getting lots of milk becuase when she pushes away her mouth is still full of milk and I end up wearing it. How long is everyone else's sessions???

Mine nurses for about 8 mins on average. I was worried at first but she’s still steadily gaining weight and my breasts feel emptied when she’s done. I have a strong quick let down so I think that’s why she eats so fast. It’s probably the same with you. I wouldn’t worry as long your baby is gaining weight

She's getting plenty mama, don't worry. My son nurses anywhere from 5 minutes to 30, it depends on how determined he is

My boy nurses for about 8 minutes.  He has plenty of wet and dirty diapers and is gaining weight so I'm not worried about it.

5-10 minutes each side. Sometimes more. If it’s closer to 5, it’s because she passed out. I shoot for 10 each side.

Similar experience! Probably 10 min on average. I always offer her both breasts, but sometimes she's not interested and I don't see a reason to force it.

If she refuses then she's getting enough. My total nursing session normally is 15-20 minutes.

My daughter would latch on for about 5 min then let go and cry like there is no tomorrow! I don’t know what the problem is. Is it because my milk flows too slow? So I pump and put in a bottle to feed her instead but I have really low supply. I give her formula after my expressed milk. My milk came in when she was about a month old. She is 2 months now. I used to get only 1-2oz from pumping both breasts. Now I can get 2-3oz both breasts. It’s not enough for her. She takes 4oz of formula as well as expressed milk.

Probably about 10-15 mins she nurses. She’s packing on the pounds so I am not entirely too worried about the length of time she is nursing.

Is this happening during your letdown? The letdown could be too strong. If so let her pull of, then see if she'll relatch when it's over. I have to do it every feeding session. If she is actually done after 8 minutes that's fine. Some babies are just really effcetive eaters. You can actually weigh baby (with lbs and ounces) before feeding and after to see how many ounces she is getting. They do it at my pld breastfeeding support group.

8 weeks and I would say around 12 minutes on average and just one boob. Sometimes only 7 minutes though and sometimes 20
