I’m making desserts for a work pot luck, but I’m not sure what type of cake to make! I’m also making fruity pebble macarons. I could also do a brownie if I did a non-chocolate cake.

What is a Victoria sandwich?

Answer

This is a Victoria sandwich. It’s a British dessert so it’s less sweet than an American cake and the crumb texture is a bit courser. It is then filled with a jam (I like it with raspberry) and a less sweet buttercream. Then sprinkled with powdered sugar. (This is not my photo.)
