Formula sensitivity?

Has anyone made the switch to hypoallergenic formula? How did it go? Our 5 week old is pretty gassy and fussy and spits up a lot, she is peeing well and gaining weight so the dr wasn’t too concerned but said we could try one of the hypoallergenic ones. I’m a little hesitant to switch if she doesn’t really need a special formula. I did try the Enfamil AR designed for spit up which helped but just constipated her

My LO is 3 wks old and we tried multiple formulas before ending with Nutramigen.  similac advance in the hospital, then Enfamil Reguline, then similac sensitive all were causing hard, chalky stools that caused him to painfully strain & trouble passing gas.  I decided to switch the hypoallergenic when I noticed his stool was a bit bloody with mucous.  We’ve had no problems with his stools since. It’s a smelly formula and expensive but definitely worth it.

Answer

We used Similac Sensitive for our gassy baby and it worked wonders. That and gave her Gripe Water a couple times a day.
