I've never been asked, but I bring my own. 
I don't mind that type of stealing. I think the people you stole it from are stealing more than their fair share- but it depends on how you look at things.

I’ve only been asked how many reusable bags I brought with me - at Target we get a percentage off for using reusable.

I am usually honest but I've noticed that when I check out at a register and say they charged me for 5 bags but I really need 6 they dont even think about charging me the extra cents, they just give them to me.
