Completely different pregnancy experience from previous ones, help!

Miranda

Sry if this is tmi, I figure we're all used to it here lol.

I'm currently 38 weeks 5 days along and this is my 3rd pregnancy. It's been 3 years since my last one and it all feels so new this time especially since I've had such a very difference experience.

So over the weekend I had pretty consistent contractions that I think were Braxton hicks, I thought maybe it was labor at first because they were stronger than my normal ones(I had to take a warm shower which didn't help them to go away) I've had for weeks now, and they were coming every 5 minutes for all of Friday night and Saturday morning but then they got more random and they never got stronger or more intense which is why I knew they weren't real labor.

This afternoon when I went to the bathroom I noticed a brown discharge and now tonight it's still it's more of a pinkish color. I've also been feeling even more pressure and sensation down really low and almost like my vagina is aching. I'm also still having Braxton hicks through out the whole day and night, been having minimum of 15 or 20 per hour, sometimes quite a bit more.

I never had any signs with my 1st pregnancy, at 38 weeks I just ended up with contractions every 10 minutes and knew it was time when I couldn't walk through them and I had my baby 8 hrs later & I was induced with my 2nd so even though it's my 3rd baby I don't know what to expect really.

My water never broke with my previous ones, I didn't lose my mucus plug, no bloody show and no Braxton hicks throughout any of my pregnancy. This one has been very very different.

I'm guessing my mucus plug is starting to come out maybe? I haven't seen any thick globs of discharge yet and nothing has come out when using the toilet, just watery brown/pink discharge on my panty liner and when I wipe.

Has anyone had this happen? Or had Braxton hicks that started to get more regular and consistent that turned into real contractions? And if so, did labor start soon for you or was it a while after? I'm thinking maybe it could be my cervix starting to dilate as well. I haven't been checked yet to see where my cervix is so I have no clue. I'm so ready to meet my little girl and my dr said since this is my 3rd it could happen anytime now.

Thanks!
