Advice please

I have been told by my older friend and my aunt that I should get a gynecologist now that I’m 19 especially since I left for college. Though when I was actively looking for one and asked my mom and my boyfriend’s mom they both said there is no point in getting a gynecologist and it’s better to just have a primary doctor who can do everything instead of just the “lady parts”. So what I am basically asking is should I look for a gynecologist as well or just stick with my primary care doctor?
