Does your risks during pregnancy increase with how many you have?

Does anyone know if your risks during pregnancy increase with the more children you have, even if your pregnancies so far have been good with no complications? Would it make a difference if you were younger vs. older?

To some extent. One midwife set I interviewed were saying they would want to put me on a drip during labor because with each birth there is a higher percent chance of hemorrhages post birth. Since I already have 4 and am over 35, those risks increase. Same with csections, each csection carries with it additional risk.  Apparently the golden number is between 2-4. 1 you are untried, 4 you are leaning toward more risk. But not to seriously.

I had Gestational diabetes and preeclampsia with my son when I was 26 years old. I am now pregnant with a girl and have neither of these issues and I am 33 weeks pregnant and will be 30 at the end of the month. I worried about complications with this pregnancy but he assured me that stuff is more common to have problems in first pregnancies.
