Ferber Method Tips?

Question

Has anyone used this method? If so, can you share what you did / how you did it or any tips? 
My son will be 5 months old in 5 days and we are thinking of starting this weekend. He’s been waking every 1-2 hours since about 12 weeks old—it’s like the regression never ended.

We did it with our daughter and she caught on super quick and she’s been sleeping 9-10 hours straight every night since we started (4 weeks ago) and she falls asleep on her own. 
We kept a consistent bedtime routine 
Bath - Nurse - Play - Bottle - Snuggles - Bed 
We really watched for her sleepy cues. As soon as she started big yawns and rubbing her face and eyes we got her going to bed. I’d give her hugs and kisses and say good night, put her in her bassinet while the room is already fairly dark with white noise on. We use a sleeveless sleep sack as well which I think helps. Once she’s settled in the bassinet I turn out the light and leave the room, door closed. 
If she cried, I waited 3 minutes and then went in to comfort her without picking her up. Once she settled I left the room again. If she cried, I waited 5 minutes before comforting her. Then 10 minutes. 
The first night I had to go in after 3 mins and after 5 mins. Three minutes into the 10 minute stretch she fell asleep and was out all night. 
Second night I only had to go in after the 3 mins. Then she fell asleep 
Third night was the same. 
Fourth night she fell asleep within minutes, no crying or fussing. 
There is some nights here and there that she fusses after going down and I have to go comfort her, but she always goes to sleep within minutes afterwards. 
And if she wakes up in the middle of the night and isn’t showing signs of being hungry, I just rub her back and she falls back asleep.
