Help a girl out

So Colton has “asthma” (either it is or it’s all from his heart problems) and he has been coughing a lot and retracting. Problem is, we have breathing treatments but it’s so common to us now I can’t tell if it’s worth a treatment. He is playing fine and acting normal but the retracting and coughing as been going on for a week. Should I give the treatment (they are a high dose medication) or just watch him? Not much more the doctor can do for him so I don’t bother calling anymore.
