Introducing solids to a preemie
I’m getting sooo so much conflicting advice on this. When we left the nicu, the neonatologist said we could start solids at 6 months adjusted. Pediatrician says 6 months actual age.
Some things online say one way and some the other. What did your doctors say?
Milestone wise, he’s already caught up so he’s showing most all of the signs of readiness so I know he’ll be ready that way by 6 months (currently 20 weeks, 13 adjusted), and he’s 15 1/2 lbs (35th percentile), so catching up on size, but I want to be certain he’s ready INSIDE too. I’m happy to wait until 6 months adjusted but I know waiting too long can increase the chance of food allergies too 😫. My daughter didn’t eat until 8 months old (35 weeker) and she has tons of food allergies.
