Preparing for a natural birth what helped you?

I really dont want a epidural and want to deliver my baby naturally. My whole family says I’ll regret it and I can’t do it. 
I just wanted to see what helped you have a natural birth so I can try to start preparing I would say I I have a decent pain tolerance I know birth is like nothing else so I’m scared. What did you do in the pain moments? I know will be worth it in the end.

Breathe .. as cheesy as it sounds. Get into a good mental state where you know you CAN do it. Don't worry about what anyone else says, you'll be surprised by what your body can do if you believe in yourself.

I labored at home for 10 hours, and then another 2 at the hospital before I began pushing which I did for 6 hours! I knew I didn't want an epidural and I am so glad I didnt get one! I'm pregnant with my second and I wont be having one this time around again. 
1. Stay at home as long as you can! This was the main thing that helped me. I stayed home until I was 9cm (not entirely on purpose, lol) but I was only asked one time if I wanted an epidural and after that the option was gone
2. Remind yourself the reasons why you are not wanting on. I had a large list of reasons why and I just kept going over them in my head! 
3. Make sure your partner or support person are totally on board with you not having one. Seeing you in pain like that is going to be scary for them and they may want to encourage you to get the epidural! 
4. I had a playlist made and we brought a speaker to the hospital so I could listen to music through labor and pushing. 
Just remember, at the end of the day all moms are superheros no matter how they give birth! I hope you have a wonderful birth experience!

Just remember that people have had unmediated births forever.. 
Just take each contraction as it comes and figure out what works for you to get through them. 
It really is mind over pain. You can do it!!
And if you end up getting meds oh well. You have no one to impress. It’s hard to know how much you are willing to endure until you are living it.
You will do great and all that matters is you and baby are healthy and happy in the end how ever it is you get there 😊

I’ve never had a non medicated birth and I regret it! I wish I could have done it both times without an epidural because honestly it sucks I don’t like the epidural, with this one (my third) I’m going to try and do natural, it is very painful I was an 8 with my second when I decided to get the epidural and I really regret it because it slowed everything down soooo much and it’s a pain to recover from honestly, I know I could have done it had I mentally prepared myself. I have a pretty good pain tolerance as well and I know I could have done it, so girl if you know you can do it, do it! Literally our bodies were made for this and it’s gonna be hard but in those really painful moments think of the progress you’re making with each contraction and how much closer your baby is to coming into the world!

My first was epidural second was natural.. I truly prefer the natural!!! I had a great experience with both and am lucky but natural was so nice being able to walk around the whole time and I am afraid of needles lol so I knew I didn’t want that again. Just keep picturing the baby, and also we were made to do this.  Once the baby was born I didn’t feel anymore pain it was unreal.

We took a class that was informational about all types of delivery but really supported unmedicated. We learned about and practiced breathing techniques, positions and movement, and various tools available (balls, wraps, tub, etc). There are many pain management options that are not pharmaceutical. Our class was through our hospital, so maybe finding one of those would help. They also encouraged us to labor at home as long as possible since we’d be in a comfortable environment.

Showers. Pool wasn’t my thing. Focusing on what was happening and being there in the moment helped. I had a support system outside my room for one delivery, I loved going out and being with them, that helped a lot, music, I liked rolling on the ball. Relaxing my face and body helped a bit too.

Use their doubt as motivation! Everyone laughed when i said that too. Especially my SIL and MIL so i allowed them at my birth and had a successful non medicated waterbirth right in front of their eyes 💪 it got me pumped so i done it again but alone this time. I got so confident i had my 3rd at home. Yes it hurts, it hurts more than anything BUT its so temporary and the more it hurts the closer you are to meeting baby. I find closing my eyes, breathing and trying to almost zone out of my body helps. Its probably similar to hypnobirthing i guess. You can do this hun.

Drives me nuts when ppl put in their opinion of you cannot do it without an epidural. My first labor I was induced and had pitocin. Had the epidural that time and even with it was in terrible pain, i believe the pain was mainly increased from the pitocin. Second time i was induced again and things went so quick that by the time I contemplated the epidural they said i would have to wait an hr for it and they were gonna start me on pitocin. Well thank the Lord I dilated the rest of the way in a half hr so started pushing and was out on first push. My second labor was so much better and the most that helped me was breathing. I just focused on that and only until transition did i waver to get epidural but when it wemt so quick i was so proud to have go with none

It reay is just a mental game and I fully encourage you to go for it. Just dont have your mind totally set because its okay to opt for pain meds. I plan on going as long as I can without them but Im down to get am epidural too when i cant handle it. 
The only thing that matters is that you enjoy your birth. If the pain is making it a traumatic experience it is okay to get meds. Let it be something you enjoy. You never know until your in the moment. Also getting meds doesnt make you any less of a beast or a mama. 
They can always turn down the medication in the epidural too when its time to push so you can feel more if you want to.
