My husband called me an anchor today

Miranda • I have a gorgeous three year old girl.

He has always been the primary breadwinner since we met as I was studying, and working part time. Then we got married and had a baby, I finished my degree and have been trying to get my own business off the ground for 18 months - not very successfully. I work two days a week and look after our 3yo daughter who has a rare genetic condition and requires assistance with everything, and needs to go to physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech every week or two (funded by the government).

He got mad today that I had donate money to a bushfire cause and said I was an anchor dragging him down and stormed out saying ‘make some money!’.

I get how frustrating it is that my business isn’t bringing in a lot but I do a lot more that just work. I could be a stay at home mum and not even be trying to work!

Him saying that makes me feel completely unappreciated, hurt, and angry. He said sorry but I told him that it’s not enough this time. He is mad that I was crying and kept swearing about it rather than trying to comfort me or actually give a sincere apology. He thinks I should just let it go. Am I overreacting?
