Nipple confusion/rejects formula
I am a SAHM of a 10 year old, 3 year and 3 month old. My 3 month old daughter absolutely hates bottles (even if breastmilk) and absolutely hates formula. Formula is beneath her 🤣 ! When she was born I immediately breastfed her. She latched on perfectly but due to having jaundice she had to be given formula as well. Once we came home from hospital, my husband wanting to bond with her began giving her formula and she unapologetically refuses. We started doing little tricks and nothing is working. We switched formulas, added little rice cereal to make thicker, larger hole in bottle, different types of bottles, waking her up to eat (so she isn’t cranky from being too hungry), breastmilk in bottle, me leaving the room so husband can feed, white noise, white nose + flashing lights, feeding in room with no stimulation. WE ARE TIRED!
I feel bad because he feels like he can’t bond with her without her crying for me/boobs all the time and I feel like I am beginning to neglect my 3 year old son because I’m constantly tired and breastfeeding all the time but I don’t wanna abruptly stop breastfeeding just to force her to take a bottle so I can get some proper rest.
Any other tips? Has anyone else gone through this/is going through this ? Also here’s a pic of my sweet baby girl, her name is Delilah Monroe ❤️
