For the parents who had their baby before the end of December..

How/when do you get the baby's ss# and birth certificate and file them on your taxes? I'm in Virginia. I remember the lady at the hospital saying something about waiting until they're 6 weeks old but I can't remember as I was seriously lacking sleep.. And I can't remember what we did when my first son was born.

Thanks for the replies.. So basically everyone got their baby's SSN but me for some reason. 😔
