Juggling baby and dog?
This might be a silly question, but I thought about it today and wondered what other moms do....
My normal routine when I come home from anywhere (often just me as I’ve been on maternity leave and as I will be for the remainder of it and as I return to work part time) is to let my dog out of his kennel, put him on his leash and go straight out the door for about 5 minutes to let him use the bathroom. He has to be leashed, and we don’t have a fenced in yard
Once baby is here, where do I put her when I take him out?
I’m afraid to try to hold her because holding her and his leash and opening the door at the same time seems risky, especially because he’s usually full speed ahead out the door and gives me a little bit of a tug when he hits the end of his leash.
I’m a little afraid to just put her down inside in her car seat where I brought her in from the car because like I said it’s sometimes upwards of 5 minutes that I’m out there with him and it seems like a long time to leave her unsupervised especially in a technically non sleep safe space.
What do other dog and baby moms do?
Thanks for any advice!!
P.S. I do walk my dog for more than little 5 minute increments in the day, but it’s usually when my husband is home or the plan is when it warms back up to take her too in her stroller on our walks, but where to put her obviously isn’t an issue in those situations.
