This is what I saw when my daughter’s tooth was about to come in!

They may look a bit swollen but it is hard to tell in the picture. Mine now has an actual tooth you can see coming through. Before that for weeks I felt it sitting under his gums and all the people who's hand he stole to chew on also reported feeling something. But mostly, if they are a bit fussier you can always use a teething ring. If it helps it probably is teething, if it doesnt, no harm done, right? :) Also my colleague told me today her daughter's teeth only came in at 1y old, which is also perfectly possible. She remebered freaking out over it and her pediatrician  asking her if she ever had met an adult whose teeth never came in. Everyone gets teeth, sometimes it just takes time, no biggie :)
