He’s finally here!

Started having contractions at 39 weeks, they became 4-5 minutes apart at 39w1d. Visited the OB who confirmed I was only 1cm dilated but since I live far from the hospital, I was admitted to L&D. Once I arrived, my water broke! Contractions became super painful once my water broke, so I got the epidural when I was only 1.5-2cm dilated - A GODSEND! Everything was great after the epidural, except I wasn’t progressing as quickly as my doctor would have liked. After a very small amount of pitocin, I reached 7cm but the baby’s heart rate kept randomly dropping so off to an emergency c-section, which was my absolute worst nightmare. Fortunately, the c-section was not as bad as others have had me believe. I heard his cry after about 3 minutes in the operating room and was back in L&D within the hour. Turns out the cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck so I would have never been able to deliver vaginally anyway. But none of it matters because he’s finally here... Damon Angelo Tucci 💙
