How many deep, close friendships do you have?

I feel like all my friends vanished once I had my baby. So disappointing and upsetting.

None, but it doesn’t bother me. I had a few really close friends for years before having kids but since having my kids I have completely changed as a person and I just have nothing in common with them anymore. I also enjoy spending time with my kids over anyone else so I really wouldn’t bother making time for them anyway. Friends just aren’t important to me anymore.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me, when my daughter arrived. I felt so lonely and disappointed. The best thing I did was put myself out there and went and made new friends. I had to try several baby groups but on one particular day, I got so lucky and met a great group of girls. They kept me sane on my maternity leave and I’m still best friends with them now. Moral of the story, forget the people who aren’t making an effort with you and go and  find some new people! X

One. And we live two states away and have known each other since middle school. It takes work but we text daily, we were in each others weddings and we fly to meet babies and other important events. But no other person I’ve met I e formed as close a friendship with. I have “school mom” friends and “gym mom” friends and “church mom” friends that I’ll maybe do coffee or a movie with and we will babysit each others kids if needed, but nothing comparable to my best friend. And nothing comparable to my husband. :) and I’m not bothered by it.

I have a couple friends who have kind of ghosted, but that's now who they are than anything to do with the baby. Like, it's not the first time for either of them. Everyone else has been super supportive.

I have a close group of 3 friends, but I’ve been in hermit mode with my 4 month old. They get it, they have kids too, and remember being a FTM.

My closest friends I don’t see that often or get to talk to a whole lot but we still pick right back up when we do talk. I do have some friends that I’m pretty close with that I get to see a few times a month, which is happening more consistently now that my son is a year old. It was difficult that first year to get together with friends and actually feel like I got to enjoy time with them!
