Does this make any sense?

We live with my MIL cause we can't afford our own place and our credit is too bad to get a place. Well my step daughter is turning 2 and we're having a party Sunday. Well we don't have a "play room" so some toys are in the living room which never caused an issue before, well now all of a sudden ALL the toys need to be put away for the party.... It's a party for a TWO YEAR OLD don't you want toys out to entertain the kids? Her thing is it's the "adult " thing to care what others think of your house and how clean it is. Only family is coming MAYBE 9 people.... That's it. Sorry I was raised not to give 2 shits less what others thought of me lol
