Is going to a bottle after a child is 2 a bad thing? Read comment first please

Question

My son is over 2 and still nursing all night. I’ve cut out all other nursing sessions, but I can not cut out the ones at night. I’ve tried everything. His dad has taken him and tried to get him back to sleep and he cried so hard he busted a blood vessel in his face. 
I was thinking the best bet would be just as night to give him a bottle again. He won’t take a sippy cup. It’s close to a nipple and I thought at first I could give him a bottle at night only then switch it with a sippy cup when he is used to not nursing anymore. 
I am 20 weeks pregnant. I have to figure something out before the baby is here.

If contact a pediatric sleep consultant. They don’t need milk at night - it’ll rot their teeth. You might want to take babe to a dentist too.

I night weaned my son around his second birthday. I gave him a sippy of water instead. The first few days he had no interest in the water and was very upset with me. About half a week in, he started accepting it and a week later he was sleeping through the night. I still give him a sippy of water in his room before bed now, he just turned 3.

He's YOUR son. You decide what to do don't let strangers on the internet decide for you. One bottle a night is fine it's not like he'll have it all day and night. He needs something to be soothed. Eventually he'll get the sippy cup.

Also I read a post about seeing a dentist too..I dodnt w my forst bc I had no idea.Breastmilk paired w carbs( esp baby snacks or anything w corn syrup) is super bad for tweth.My current baby n middle child have had no teeth issues..my middle weaned atb5 mos when he had a cold n my current baby gets his teeth brushed 2 x a day n sees the dentist .I felt horrible when at 2 n a half my daughter had to go to surgery to get sever cavities ( I couldnt see n she didn't complain about) fixed.Best of luck..U ll get it squared away

You do whatever it takes for a quiet life and happy life. My son who’s nearly 17 now! Wanted his dummy/paci until he was 4 and slept in my bed. It worked for us!!! You do whatever it takes to keep your little one happy... ignore all the silly advice as believe me it goes by in a flash and soon they are teens who don’t really need you anymore 🤣

So my LO had dropped all her nap time "bottles" they were soft spout sippy on her own. But held onto the nightime one pretty strongly until one day she got a nasty cold and had no interest in drinking anything and was just so exhausted she passed out at bedtime without a sippy of anything. Now her last cup of milk is with dinner and we brush teeth. 
Could you one day like a weekend day go on a bunch of outings, keep him busy that whole day- no naps. And just skip the nursing session all together and put him to bed. Hopefully he will be exhausted enough and just pass out? 
OR Maybe try a softer spout sippy cup with breastmilk in it and coat the spout with milk- have your husband give it while you are in a completely different part of the house. I dont think I'd go back to the bottles though.

You need to find something that will work best for you when your next child gets here. Night breast feedings for your child are a comfort thing so you need to find something else that will serve as a sense of comfort for him. I’d give a bottle a try and just let him cry it out.

Currently dealing with this as well. My 20 month old refuses to stop breastfeeding. I have cut out most  day feedings since this past Monday by putting on a jacket and zipping it up to my neck. He usually fights me, pinching and scratching my face for about 5 minutes while trying to put him down for afternoon nap. I sing the ABC’s to him and he kind of get the point that it’s time to go to sleep and usually falls asleep after 10 mins or so. He will wake up about 40 mins into his nap and the only way to put him to sleep is BFing. 
Bedtime is a different story I have to give him breast milk. 2 nights ago he breastfed for an hour didn’t fall asleep so I put my jacket on and made him fall asleep with no milk it took a total of 2 hours to put him to sleep. He still feeds multiple times throughout the night, he is also bites and scratches my nipples as he is a twiddler and still teething.
I’m 18 weeks pregnant. I had severe morning sickness for 10 weeks and still vomiting a few times per week. I’m so over it and ready to be done with breastfeeding so I can get back to potty training.

Oops hit no by accident.   My son never got a bottle at night  but during the day as hed been a preemie and I was paranoid.  At 2 dentist mixed the bottle as it was shifting his teeth.  We went to sippy cup.  But again not at night.  This info doesn't help your situation though.  My guy was cut off breast at 4 months due to my needing to go back on diabetic and pain meds.  Hed been seriously attached to falling asleep on the boob.  I just cradled and snuggled him until he fell asleep.  Then off to bed.  Hes my third but with a huge age gap.  My second was a great sleeper too.  The sooner you get them down after they fall asleep the better until they can self soothe to sleep

My daughter was a bit older..3 n a couple mos so I'm not sure I'd this will work but. Popsicles..sometimes 2 gave my girl the happiness n security of suckimg without a problem.Have U tried the straw sippee that U can tip upside down..got mine at walmart..looks like a slurpee cup( w the high oval arch at top).I ll be thinking of U..I have an all night / day nurser and u know it s just bc I'm home w him.My freind is a mom of 4 little ones n she weaned her son at night by just keeping him busy like it was day time n eventually he gave up.I was 36bweeks pregnant w my 2nd when my first weaned w the popsicles.It took about a month ..I had a fridge in the hall right outside my room.Best of luck
