Cyst and trigger

I had a 23mm follicle when I went in for my cd12 scan but wasn’t surging yet on my own. I triggered the next night and

36 hours after that. Doctor mentioned at

IUI

that one of my follicles might be a cyst so I’m assuming he meant my big one (I had 3 or 4 other mature ones too). Does anyone know what the trigger shot does for a cyst? Will it help that too or will the cyst stay and the other follicles release and go away?
