Baby showers?

Mommas with other babies, did you have a shower for more than 1? Ive heard mixed reviews on whether or not you should have a shower for each pregnancy. Its not about the gifts really its a gathering for family and friends to celebrate a new life. Although with my son I got A TON OF STUFF. I hardly had to buy anything for his first year. I'm now pregnant with #2 a girl. I have nothing for a girl and i didn't keep anything from baby #1 as i thought i wasnt having anymore kids. Is a 2nd baby shower tacky?

This is my first baby, but I have been to and helped throw “sprinkles” before. I think it’s great especially if the 2nd is the opposite gender!

I have 2 boys, they're 6 years apart. I had a bigger shower for my first, where we invited way too much of my fiances family. I didn't even know most of the people there. I wasn't expecting any kind of shower for #2 but my sister insisted on throwing a sprinkle.. I had way less people come and it was way more comfortable for me. My youngest is 16 months, so I probably won't do anything this time around... Although I may consider something small just for clothes (since we still have everything from the 16 month old), and maybe diapers, if this one turns out to be a girl. I kept lots of clothes, but a lot of them say stuff like, "Daddys little man" and similar things so can't really put that stuff on a girl lol. I'll have to dig through and pull out all the gender neutral stuff and see where we stand after that, I think.

I will be having a shower for every baby I have! At my baby showers I provide a full meal and cake so I think it’s fine! It’s just like any other party!

In my area most people think it's tacky unless you didn't get one for the first or there's a large age gap. I personally think that having a party for each baby is awesome, and I know in other areas that's the norm. I think just do what makes you happy, those who want to come, will.

Showers are to celebrate the baby not to get presents. I don’t think it’s ever tacky to have a little party. If you’re worried about it make it a diaper party or even a “hand me down” party. I’m on my third and for each baby we’ve had a small party where we made blocks for baby. This baby will get the same thing! I’ll definitely put no gifts in the invite though.

We have showers to celebrate the life of the new baby and for people to meet the new baby so the new family has time to relax in their house iso constantly having to entertain people
