Reflux, rash, cmpa??

A background: My son is 3 months as of yesterday. We go in two days for a weight check. He has been having trouble gaining. This will be the first time we have had a weight check since the changes (I’ll list later). He is still in newborn & 0-3. Newborn has room, it’s the length he’s starting to grow out of. Most 0-3 is too big weight wise. He’s in size 1 diapers with loads of room and I can tell he barely weighs anything by picking him up.

So he’s has horrible reflux since we brought him home. Couldn’t lay on his back at all without screaming no matter what we did. Throwing up, vomiting. Throwing up pretty much every bottle, the whole bottle. We was little upright the entire day and still throwing up. Tried burping after every 2oz, feeding smaller feedings everything. So they put him on medicine and switched him to Alimentum thinking maybe it was cmpa which my daughter had.

But he’s still throwing up. Better but it’s still there. Sometimes it’s the whole bottle and sometimes it’s half or less. He still seems bad gassy at times. (We have tried gas drops, gripe water etc) still acts as if sometimes he’s in pain from reflux. He woke me up a couple of nights a lot coughing like he couldn’t get it up and what looked like slobber constantly coming out his mouth until I finally got him to throw it up. The throw up is so bad (better but still bad) that we just carry around a towel with us because the burp clothes wasn’t enough..

So I’ve noticed this rash that comes and goes. My daughter had a similar rash that went away after she was put on aluminum. But my sons is still here. So for anyone who has experience this, is it a cmpa but aluminum didn’t help. Or maybe need to switch to lactose or soy? Or is it the reflux? Like I said we go in a couple of days for a weight check so I’ll bring it up. But I can tell his weight gain is low.

I’ll add the rash comes and goes and usually goes away about an hour after finishing the bottle.
