PLEASE HELP

So it hasnt been a month for our relationship and our relationship is ldr we net in person and hungout alot and got to know each other but not entirely about each other, he tells me that we're not done but we're not considered as together and he says things will still be the same but he just wants to get to know me better and he says he needs time, but he'll be the same like he is in a relationship. We have mutual friends and i have trust in him. I know that he has been busy and i'm fine with that, we're just trying to make sure our future is a smooth path for thr both of us. But is this a good thing or a bad thing? when he said goodnight i said idk if i should still say love you or what, he tells me that he doesnt know if he'll reply back ily but ya he tells me he needs time. the time difference is 15+ hours so rn its am where i'm at and he's asleep rn. I truly care for him and ik ldr is hard but if u really love someone distance wouldnt even keep your love apart ig. And what i mean by the same is he'll still update me who's he with or whats going on, he says that things will be the same just he wants to get to know me better and ig its been 3 or more than 3 weeks but not a month
