Can 6 day old have gripe water?!

My daughter gets insane hiccups every time I lay her down flat. It makes her spit up and choke sometimes. Gripe water says 2 weeks minimum but has anyone done earlier? Did your dr okay it?

Sounds like it may be reflux. I would ask your doctor first.

I used Gripe water with my daughter starting at I think 2 weeks, she has really bad acid reflux and her doctor put her on rice cereal for the spit up and we changed her formula to alimentum because she has a soy and dairy allergy. 
We couldn’t lay her flat when she was a newborn even sitting her up half an hour after feedings wouldn’t work, she would throw up the whole bottle, our second time using gripe water was a little scary though I had her in her bassinet when she was barely even a month old a little while after I gave her the gripe water and she seemed to be fine so i later her down and I saw her arms flailing up and down and she was choking on her spit up and we had to call the ambulance. It made her mucus so thick she couldn’t spit it out. I couldn’t even get it out with the mucus sucker

Have you tried keeping her upright for 20 minutes after a feed along with frequent burping during a feed?

yes, but it doesn’t do much. i noticed add nightly baby massage, keeping him elevated for 30min or more before laid down, put him on his side, and keeping his airway clear helped!

I'd ask your doctor but it sounds like maybe reflux. Is she burping plenty before you lay her down?
