When can I tell my baby’s sex?

I have an appointment next week on my 13th week mark. I’m super excited just to see the baby look like a baby and not a gummy bear like my 8 week ultrasound 😂 I was wondering if there was any chance they’d tell me the gender at this appointment or end up telling me at my next one(another 4 weeks after at 17 weeks). I’ve done a lot of googling and get mixed results. When did you guys get your sex determining ultrasound? And at 13 weeks that were accurate?

At the 20 week anatomy scan is when they usually tell you. Some people get the test done before then and some people go to a private boutique to find out before then.

unless you go to a private place, they won’t specifically look for gender. but there are rare cases where it’s incredibly easy to tell.

I was 16 weeks with my son and 14 weeks with my daughter when I found out by ultrasound, but I had a very experience OBGYN and just happened to be lucky that they were in good positions to tell. Just be prepared though that that’s still really early, so even if they do think one gender at 13 weeks I wouldn’t set your heart on it until it’s confirmed again at the next ultrasound.

Doctors offices won’t tell you until ~20 weeks. Private places the earliest is usually 15 or 16. Are you sure you’re getting an ultrasound next appointment? Most offices only do 2, the dating ultrasound at ~8 weeks and anatomy scan at ~20 weeks.

I found out when I was 12 weeks.

They can tell, but it is rare still to get it so early. It is harder to see and baby might not show it enough. But at 17 weeks it is more likely to know.

I waited until i was 18 weeks and got a private scan done for the gender. Even if i had gotten a blood test beforehand i wouldn't believe it until i saw the privates myself lol. Luckily little man is proud of showing what he has😂 this was 2weeks after my private scan. To me that's more accurate than a test result. Idk why, i just prefer seeing to believe in this situation lol
