Whose baby falls asleep independently ?!

Question

Anyone’s baby fall asleep on their own without rocking swaying feeding etc.?
At what age did they start ? How did it happen?

My LO does for the most part since she was born! I just made a point to always put her down before she was asleep and before she was overtired. if she’s overtired that’s when she needs to be rocked. Now if she is having trouble I don’t let her cry it out but I try to give her her paci and comfort her in her crib without picking her up for a minute or two and if that doesn’t help her then I pick her up 😊

My baby does for bedtime. We feed him, put him in his sleep suit in his crib, even if he's wide awake and turn his hatch baby on. He puts himself to sleep within a couple minutes. He just turned 3 months yesterday and he's been doing it since 1 almost 2 months old.

The trick is to catch them before they get overtired.. At this age most babies can only happily be awake for 2 hours max.. So anywhere between 1 and 2 hours if we see signs he is starting to get sleepy, like yawning and running eyes, we rock for a few minutes to relax him and then put him down awake. He sometimes sucks his hands for 10 minutes but will usually self settle. If he is overtired, we have to take him for a walk to get him to sleep!

Our girl does this for naps during the day but at night our bedtime routine includes giving her a bottle, so we haven’t tried anything different. She is usually asleep within 10 minutes at night, except for the last few nights where it has taken an hour because of teething. 🤯

Our LO is just starting to do this now. It's not consistent but we've been working on it since 12 weeks. He's 16+2 now. He doesn't do it for naps, just bedtime. Sometimes he fusses and sometimes he cries but he's been putting himself to sleep 🙌
I started by rocking him and then putting him down when he stopped crying. If he cried, I picked him back up again and repeated. Then I moved to putting him in the crib and putting one hand on his back and one on his diaper and tapping it. Then I only did that when he cried. And now I'm letting him fusses (he only does for about 5 minutes 🤞🙏) before he goes to sleep. We do the same thing every night at the same time in the same exact order. No surprises.

My baby does! For naps and for bedtime. Our routines only vary a little for both. But generally, we swaddle and then I do a little bounce with him for many a minute and he kind of gets into a relaxed mood, then I lay him down awake. He’s generally asleep within 5-10minutes.
