Bleeding after fingering

So my boyfriend and I have had sex twice now... the first time was my first ever and it was very painful for me, but I didn’t experience any bleeding.

Then, we tried again a month later... it was a day or so after my period and I was in less pain but I bled a LOT. I assumed this was just because it was the end of my period.

So fast forward to today. I’ve been off my period for well over a week now and he was fingering me and I started to bleed. I am still getting used to vaginal penetration but I find it hard to believe that this bleeding is coming from my hymen, and his nails were very short. I felt period-like cramps afterwards.

Please let me know what could cause this!! I’m very comfortable around my boyfriend so I wasn’t necessarily embarased, but it’s just kind of a pain in the butt.
