(I keep benedyrl on hand, as a precaution. my daughter breaks out in a rash sometimes, and so I've learned to have it on hand.) but the doctor gave me the go ahead to give him benedryl incase of allergic reaction.

Any baby under 1 should see a dr for allergies 
Just a rash is one thing 
But coughing could mean her throat is itchy and I’d be worried about it closing and causing further breathing issues
