relationship advice

So 96% of the time my partner and I have a great relationship. We’re almost always on the same page, and we’re each other’s best friends. However sometimes we will have a minor disagreement or bicker about something dumb. When this happens it’s usually before bed. I hate going to bed with unresolved feelings, my SO on the other hand would rather go to bed and talk about it the next day. I can’t sleep having unresolved feelings and it gives me anxiety (something I struggle with but it’s pretty manageable) I’m not asking for an apology or who’s right or wrong but more so just kind of get over it before we go to bed. Like I said the bickering it usually something really dumb and happens if we’ve had a stressful work day or just tired. Anyone have similar situations or advice? Is this just something I need to work on and let him deal with our disagreements how he needs to?

Neither of you are right or wrong necessarily. People react to disagreements differently...That happens in our relationship, I hate leaving things unresolved. But Sometimes it’s really important to get some space, sleep on it, and then talk afresh in the morning. I find that way, neither of us say something we regret. But I think it’s natural to feel anxious. Disagreements are never pleasant.I think the compromise for us, is saying to each other that we need some space to step away from the argument. And making a promise to talk about it the next day. Rather than just leaving things on a completely bad note

I totally know how you feel, I don’t like to leave things in a bad space, ever, especially before bed because I would not be able to sleep either. I don’t have much advice for this as I catch myself apologizing and even sweeping how I feel under the rug and I would like to move on from it as soon as possible. Now these are minor things and I’m sure my reaction would be much different if it were something major. You just have to keep communication open and be available for him when he is ready to talk, even if he is mad at you while you’re going to sleep you can still cuddle him, reassure your love for him before passing out and talk the next day. Some people just need time. 😴
