Feeling defeated
My son is 6 weeks and 4 days old and I've been breastfeeding him since he was born. When he was in the hospital he lost 10% if his birth weight (7lb 6oz) so I had to supplement with formula. We've had weight checks every week since he was born because he was gaining back slowly but the pediatrician said he would probably just be small and told me to supplement if he still acted hungry after feeding him. We just left his weight check and he's still not back to his birth weight even though he's been eating constantly and they said that I need to do measured feedings (pump and then supplement if it's less than 2oz). I feel so defeated. I don't understand why my body is not producing enough and I think I'm going to have to completely switch to formula which is not what I wanted. I feel like my body should be able to do this and I'm so frustrated that it's not.
