Do you think diaper genies are worth it?

We have a 2 story house so it was definitely a must for us. Especially in the sleepless nights

Nah just a good lidded trash can and heavy duty scented trash bags will do ya.

We used ours for a year and it was amazing for a while but eventually, it started to smell SO BAD in there. We’d all literally plug our noses, toss the diaper, and then run out of the room so we wouldn’t have to smell the surrounding air. It was awful. Finally got rid of it. Throwing them in our regular trash can (which has a lid) works way better.

I have a very small trash can with a lid by the change station. I just line it  with plastic grocery bags. I empty it once a day and take the diapers right outside to the trash and have never had issues. 
I think it’s weird that people have diaper genies and let dirty diapers sit in their homes for days. 
(Full disclosure, I only use disposables at night or when battling really bad diaper rash. I use mostly cloth at home and those used diapers go in a wet/dry bag until I have enough for a load , usually every 2-3 days. I don’t have issues with smell for those either.)

Yes! I live in the basement (his changing table is in the hallway and its small) so having a big duty trashcan takes up a lot of space!

I have two. One downstairs by pnp and one upstairs in baby’s room.

We have a 3 story house so I just put a normal bin in the hallway outside my bedroom and emptied it as needed, worked for us and came in handy for any other rubbish we had upstairs
