When to have another baby

When did you know it was time to have another baby?
My son is 13 months old and my husband and I haven’t been preventing pregnancy but not necessarily trying either. Kinda if it happens it happens. Anyway, each month I psych myself up thinking I’m pregnant and I get a negative and feel slightly sad. Would you say I’m ready to have another?

Answer

For me it is about finances AND our own feelings on the matter. We knew we wanted another baby from the time my son was still an infant, but we also had financial goals (paying off all student loans and credit card debt) we had wanted to achieve before taking on another daycare payment. Also, we had wanted to start trying sooner but I had a medical emergency that required treatment, which delayed us a whole year! It felt like the longest wait ever because by the time my son was 2 we definitely wanted another and had achieved our financial goals, but medically had to wait. When I was medically cleared this past year, that is when we both knew it was time for bub number 2! It all depends on your feelings and your situation and will be different for everyone.
