Miscarriage and retained products

Have you ever had a miscarriage and then were told you have retained product but we’re actually pregnant. I went to the er yesterday for some intense pain and had an ultrasound. They said I had an incomplete miscarriage. When I asked to see the sonogram they said sure , they would give it to me with the discharge papers. When I got the papers , they only gave me the report. When I told them that’s not what I asked for they said they don’t print those there. Maybe I’m going crazy but has this happened to anyone? And you’re just still pregnant ?
