Would you start cereal at 4 months?

I am a FTM and my little one is exclusively have just breastmilk (I feed her directly during the weekend and night but bottle feed while I work FT). She eat about 6oz per bottle feed and goes about 3 hours between feedings. I am think about starting cereal next week (she will be 4 months on the 11th). In the morning it's a struggle to go even 2 hours between feedings, so I was thinking cereal may help her stay full longer. What's your opinion?

Cereal is just an empty filler.  It has no nutritional value. I never gave it to my older daughter in a bottle or by itself.

I don’t know where you’re located, but in the US they generally don’t recommend cereal anymore- it doesn’t add any nutrition, and it’s a myth that they go longer between feedings. If you choose to do it, oatmeal is a better choice than rice due to the arsenic. Either way, do not put it in the bottle.

His doctor gave him the okay and we’ve been feeding it to him once every couple days roughly and he loves it! We make it extra runny with his milk so it’s easier to eat. It keeps him nice and full especially for bedtime! This was just after eating!!

She’s gorgeous! And my sons birthday twin!! We’re seeing what the doctor says at his 4 month appt, but I’m planning to do oatmeal vs the normal rice cereal when it is time.

We just had our four month appointment and since she has great head control and is sitting g up well we got the ok to start cereal . We are doing beech nut oatmeal , just one time a day she loves it

My doc gave me the ok at 4 months for oatmeal. Cereal has no nutritional value. We are waiting until 6 months. Even with him being smaller still not doing it. My babies hungrier in the morning too. But typically goes 2 hrs between feedings anyways. All babies are different. But it sounds normal.
