If someone adopted a child and they tell the kids “I adopted you, you didn’t adopt us”. She also tells everyone she meets that her kids are adopted because she can’t handle the judgement from other people giving her looks or saying stuff. I know someone who says this and I hate that saying, it sounds like they’re just trying to get appreciation for adopting when in reality when you adopt a child the child is yours. On the other hand the father doesn’t say that because he says the children are his own and that’s it, when people start giving looks or questioning he ignores them.
