I’m only asking because my LO doesn’t have any teeth yet, but every time I see my MIL she has to go on and on about how once they get teeth I’ll stop and that’s what she did with her kids and it’s starting to really annoy me. Surely there must be a way to get through that and I feel like breastfeeding is so hard to begin with that I wouldn’t want to stop for something so silly. breastfeeding hurts in the beginning too but I still pushed through...

No. The benefits are more of a priority to me than my comfort. 
That being said, I’ve only been bitten a hand full of times. She got her first tooth before she was 5 months old. Almost 14 months now and still going strong.

Don’t listen to her ! My MIL went on and on about “oh you’ll stop once he gets teeth, that’s what I did when *SO name* got teeth at 6 months I was done” well guess what, 11 1/2 month, and 4 almost 7 teeth in (3 coming in now at once) and we’ve gone strong.❤️ don’t let anyone tell you what you will/will not and can/can’t do!

It's really not that hard to teach them not to bite. My son is almost 3 & still nurses at bedtime-- obviously he's had all his teeth for a long time, we never have issues. When the teeth first come in it may happen a bit because they simply don't know, are teething, etc. but once you teach them not to use the teeth it's totally fine.

If you want to continue, do it! You can teach your baby not to bite. Whenever they but you unlatch them and tell them no. If that doesn't work, set them down for a minute. They'll eventually learn!

My MIL told me the same thing a million times 🙄 my son is 2.5 and still nursing, hasn’t bit me once. Not all babies do and I paid attention to the way he was nursing while teething, if his latch relaxed or he started to fall asleep I would make sure to unlatch so he wouldn’t just chomp down to ease his teething pain once he was mostly done his feed.

My baby stared teething and recently bite me hard and I said ouch kind of loud! And took him off the breast for about 10 min. Also when I see he is about to be done I take him off and it’s working. I went thru this with my daughter and it took a few times and she got it. You can do this momma! It’s worth it!

If breastfeeding is something that you want to continue then go for it! My son is 8 months and has 5 teeth and I can assure you he’s never bitten me on purpose. He probably has bite me once or twice but they were both because he was teething and in pain. It may happen that they’re sucking and you feel their teeth (I sometimes feel my sons top teeth) but it’s doesn’t hurt. If baby does end up hurting you just put your pinky at the corner of his mouth to unlatch him and try again in a min or so

My daughter went through a biting phase when she started teething. It was a tough phase but I researched different ways to get her to stop and we were able to feed through it. She didn’t do it after her first set of teeth came in.
