IUD or pill?

Question

I’ve been on the pill for 8 months and I’m not very good at taking it. I’m in college and don’t need a baby. Yes I know the only way to not get pregnant is abstinence. Would the IUD be a better choice for me? Not asking y’all to make decisions for me lol just want opinions!

If you’re thinking it’s going to be a couple years before you want to have kids, I’d highly recommend it. Especially if you have trouble remembering to take you pill at the same time every day. I had the Mirena IUD and loved it so much that I got a new one after I had reached the 5 year limit - had one for a total of 6.5 years and it was great. My husband and I didn’t use any other protection besides the IUD that whole time and I never got pregnant. I had absolutely no negative side effects from it. My periods completely stopped (I know some women don’t like that because they like having their period every month but to me it was phenomenal not bleeding every 28 days). I had it removed when we decided to have another baby...my cycle returned to normal really quickly and I was pregnant less than 3 months after removal. So obviously not having my period that long didn’t cause any problems with conceiving.
The only reason I didn’t go back to the Mirena after this last baby is because we’re 100% done having kids so I had my tubes burned 😊

If you arent good at remembering the pill I would definitely look into the other methods. Implant patch iud shot and of course using a condom on top of which ever BC is always a good decision
