Just curious to hear some thoughts on this.

My partner was born and raised in Africa then moved to the states in his 20’s and lived there for a couple years before moving to Canada.

We’ve had many conversations about the differences in the culture we grew up in etc.

One thing he mentioned is what bothered him in the USA is how other Black people there don’t realize how different their culture is from actual African culture. And how he felt that other people there wouldn’t just admit that African American culture has become it’s own thing and is very different.

Just curious is anyone has any thoughts or has experienced anything like this!
