When did you or when are you planning on buying the car seat ?

I’m currently 14+1 and I’m eager to start really buying things and getting stuff ready and together so I can organize and just have the nursery done and have rest of time to relax till baby arrives. We’ve already started buying gender neutral clothes and such since we don’t know what we’re having yet however what time should I start getting the bigger things ? First time mom to be

I didn't get my daughters bedroom set until December and I was due in January (2019). We knew she would be sleeping in our room so we were not in a rush to get that. We did buy the car seat around 7 months pregnant. I waited until black Friday to see if there were any deals on travel systems (car seat and stroller combo)

I bought ours around 25 weeks, just in case something happened and we needed it. It was the very first thing we got for him, since it's required to take baby home from the hospital. We just installed the base at 36 weeks, only because my hospital requires a certified safety tech to check the install prior to birth, or i would have waited until we were on our way to have him. Lol

I found every big item I wanted to buy (crib, bassinet, dresser, rocker, car seat, stroller, swing, pack and play, high chair etc) when I was like 10 weeks. We ended up getting the crib, swing, pack and play, bassinet, high chair and others for Christmas/early baby shower gifts from family. I just kept an eye on everything we didn’t get and bought it as soon as I got a good deal. Got our rocker for 45% off and the stroller/car seat for 20% off. Only thing we paid full price for was the dresser. We had our whole nursery done by 27 weeks. You have time so definitely shop around and either wait until your find a great deal or your baby shower.

We waited til after our shower because you get gift cards & some people work together to buy bigger stuff. Or if you’re not having one, I’d wait til third trimester to get the big stuff

We didnt have to buy any of the big stuff. Our families got us all that stuff. We cant put the nursery together until we get the floors done in the nursery and believe me its driving me craaaazy. Hopefully we'll have it together before baby gets here though.

I want to buy the car seat and stroller now (almost 13 weeks) but hubby won’t let me lol. Honestly buy what you want when you want. So many people told me “you have to wait for after your baby shower!” But this is my baby I’m going to buy things whenever I want. Plus we’re not really planning on having one since this is our 2nd.

I got a carseat at my baby shower at 36 weeke and then I found a steal of a deal on a $200 Chicco carseat on clearance for $99 and got an extra 15% off of it. We needed 2 carseats. Put 1 on your registry and see if you get it at your shower and look for clearance deals at stores for a 2nd carseat if you need it.

I would wait until a little further along to get the car seat. Unfortunately recalls aren’t that uncommon with them so you would have to deal with possibly returning it.
