Gyno and IUD?

Question

I have my very first gyno appointment in a couple of day and I want to get the copper IUD. If I call ahead and tell them will they give me the IUD the same day or do they reschedule it for another appointment?

Probably depends on the office. Mine was a shit-show. I asked for it in July, they needed to verify it was covered by my insurance which took an absurd 2 weeks, then they wanted to have me come in for a pregnancy test, then 2 weeks later come in for a second pregnancy test and the actual insertion of the IUD. So I didn’t get mine until September. It was insane.

Mine didn’t. I actually went in to get the implant but he said because of my periods and medical history that I’d do better with the IUD. I thought i would get it that same day, but they scheduled it for the next week.
