Remember how I said my April baby was going to be a February baby? Well, she’s here!
tl;dr
Due date April 5
Placenta previa and accreta bumped up my c section date to Feb 28
Multiple bleeds and consistent contractions moved up delivery to Feb 19!
We made it!! After 2 bleeding scares, my little girl and I made it to the other side. She was born at 33 weeks + 3 days. Doctors believed I had Previa and accreta based on several Ultrasounds and an MRI but during surgery the accreta was a false alarm. I no longer needed a hysterectomy but I did get my tubes tied.
Baby is in the NICU and doing well. She’s breathing on her own and we started trying to feed. She’s got a feeding tube but we are also trying to BF which is going well. No milk yet but getting a little bit of colostrum. My milk came in late with my first baby so I’m expecting the same to happen this time. She getting formula in the tube so right now it’s all about her practicing how to feed on her own.
She’ll need to stay in the NICU until she’s at least 35 weeks (so at least 2 weeks in the NICU). After that, it will depend on how she does with feeding.
